So I went to :
http://www.childhoodpoverty.org/
then choose this country:
Kyrgyzstan
Because I know absolutely nothing about it.
It is located here:

Three insights from the website:
*Krgyzstan is seriously concerned about the circle of poverty. In other words they are scared of being a nation that is made up of poor kids that make poor adults.
The podcast was also very interesting because it was about another place I knew nothing about.
Aceh, a special territory on the Southern tip of Indonesia
Which is located here:

This podcast was about three orphanages in Aceh that were created to help children after major devastation in the area. A great podcast go listen to it!
Here:
I learned a lot about poverty this week and hope you did too!
Great post. This country sounds interesting. Like I said in my post, the ability to pay your bills can cease to happen in a moments notice. Since Owen and Ella have been born (mainly due to Owen's hospital stays), we have exceeded our budget for bills and at times it has been rough. This is important to realize and keep in mind when working with families.
ReplyDeleteI found your post to be very interesting. I am enjoying reading about other countries issues with poverty.
ReplyDeleteNicely done!
Tamara
Very interesting information, Hailey! I wonder if the financial situation in Kyrgyzstan worsened when the Soviet Union broke up? It is sad that the government sees that they have a problem with poverty, but they are unable to do anything about it. Hopefully, they find an answer soon.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the as after the natural article about Chinaand children in poverty. I enjoyed hearing the podcast about the children left as orphans in Indoneshia after the devastating disaster. Very informative.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great insight! I too am having a hard time getting intouh with others. Don't give up hope and you did a wonderful job on bring new parts of the world and their trends and issues to us.
