Just a quick side note reminder, the website I chose is : http://www.naccrra.org
- Follow some links you have not yet explored, where do they lead?
I decided to click on the child care aware link. This is a parent network. I am not a parent, but I still wanted to explore this link, mostly because I never have before. This link is actually pretty awesome! It is a plethora of information for parents and teachers alike. It has links to help find child care, activities, state licensing information, and many other resources. But why just take my word for it? Go there and see all that is awesome with your own two eyes!!!! : http://www.ccaparentnetwork.org/
- Thoroughly search one area of the site, what do you find?
I found this :
I decided to search out the NACCRRA best practices section of the site. This section is all about what they support and how to stay on the up and up as a child care professional. This area has a lot of ways to keep programs to level of excellence. This area is very interesting and full of great information and things to explore.
- If you receive an e-newsletter, follow a link. What information is available?
Sorry to disappoint, but other then a conformation email, asking me if I am okay with newsletters, I have not received a newsletter yet. No ideas as to why, but I just tried again, so hopefully all will be fixed in the world of technical issues soon! :)
- Does the website contain any information that adds to your understanding of equity and excellence in early child care and education?
Yes it does! In fact, the section I explored was all about both of these topics. The NACCRRA is committed to both of these topics through out their website. Every subject mentioned seems to some how relate. Check out this area for example : http://www.naccrra.org/policy/state_licensing/#we_can Which talks about oversights in state regulations.
- What other insights have you gained this week from the website?
I have gained a lot of insight this week from this website this week. It has shown me a lot of new perspective on the issues of equity as well as insights in the field in general. Exploring the links really opened up my eyes. For example one link that I have not shared yet really helped me see ways to be a great early childhood professional.
http://naccrra.smarthorizons.org/ - This is a great site with great information on ways to get more training in our field.
Well folks, this has been fun! More to post next week!
Enjoy the links!
I like your movie star approach! Very informative. You have provided great links to explore.
ReplyDeleteLovely!

I agree that parents can gain so much insight from other parents. As a parent, I learn so much about activities and programs that fit the needs of my kids. Great post!!!
ReplyDeleteI definitely wouldn't call you a "cheater, cheater, pumpkin eater!" You were just being smart and saving time! Why not? I also loved the interview approach. It really captured my interest. I haven't explored this site yet, but your description of it made me realize that it contains resources that would be very helpful to me as an early childhood educator and, hopefully someday, a director. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHailey, I believe that each website was resourceful and offered each one of our colleagues very informative information that we all benefited from, and wwwnaccrra.org is a very good website that I used in a previous blog assignment. These websites gave tools/information that we can go back to in future references to assist us with information needed in our future courses and careers.
ReplyDeleteHailey, Excellent resources. I will definely use these resources in my trainings and future references.
