You have found my blog. Some of you are forced to read it because of a class we are both in, while others of you found this blog by accident. Either way, I want to welcome you! I hope to bring you information on the early childhood field that intrigues you and makes you think. But, if I cannot do that, then at the very least I want to entertain you!
As, a pre-warning, I want to let you know I love art and theatre so I am sure this blog with be ripe with references to both.
But enough on the welcoming part. Time to dive into why I want to work in the early childhood field, I could give you a million words as to why, but those words would take a while to read and may bore you before I ever get to a point. So, I will sum it up in a quote.
"Old men can make war, but it is children who will make history."
RAY MERRITT, Full of Grace
That is my reasoning in a nutshell. It is the children who will make history, and I want to shape that into a positive history rather than a negative history.
So that is all for now. I will be back. But until then do whatever you can to make the world a better place!
I totally agree with this quote! I wish I could see some of the children I've taught in 20 years and see if I influenced them in any way!
ReplyDeleteYes, children are our history in the making. Since I've taught since 1987, I've had the privelege of seeing the children I've taught become young adults. I didn't know at the time that I was teaching future doctors, nurses, teachers, graphic designers, scientists, etc., but I gave them my best. I hear from a lot of my former students, and I'm glad that I had a part in their lives.
