A little fun with communication

I found this assignment pretty fun. To begin with I watched a show I have never seen with the sound off then again with the sound on.

The first time I watched the show it seemed to me the two on the screen were dating and were in some kind of argument. Other friends came in and out, all seeming to reconcile this couple.

When I re watched the show I saw I was only half right. The two main characters were brother and sister. So that is a major "oops". And they were not mad at each other but another friend. The friends were not trying to reconcile the relationship between the two main people but instead between themselves and the main characters.

As you can tell I made some major assumptions based on the non-verbal communications. I got most of my assumptions way wrong. Guess my dad was always right when he said the old saying about assumptions...

If this had been a show I knew, I would have been able to make better assumptions because I would have known the shows background. I would not have to guess about relationships and would have been able to better read the characters because I would have already "known" them.


However I am sure my assumptions would still be wrong....
