This is my grandmother or as I call her "Beanie" (Her last name is Beene, pronounced Bean, my dad thought "Beanie" would annoy her, and it stuck). In any and all areas of the family she is able to communicate what she thinks and feels without anyone feeling unloved or unfairly treated. Her ability to do so is a marvel to me. She never says anything hurtful or out of anger but is diligent in everything she says and does. That is what makes her so effective she lets everyone know what she does and does not agree with but she does it all out of love. I hope one day to model my own communication after her. I strive to communicate with the same effectiveness and love she does. She is in fact amazing and who does not want to be just like that?
Just look at the happy group she is a matriarch of:
(I love this picture it just shows the happy chaos of my family! It was taken at my wedding rehearsal.)

Hailey,
ReplyDeleteI love your pictures! They help to enhance this tribute to your "Beanie!" She sounds like a positively wonderful woman and I am sure she has been an incredible influence on you. Hey, happy, crazy families are the best! When you get to be a little older and you have you and your siblings have your own children it gets to be even happier and crazier!

Wonderful photos! I think that often times in modern society, older individuals are dismissed by some youth as having little important information to share. This is so sad to me. I volunteer with the older population at our church. I simply open the room, set out games and snacks, and lock up upon completion. My children sometimes play in the corner or we play games with them. I have learned so much about different aspects of life. Since my youngest son, Owen, has medical issues that can be life-threatening many people do not know how to interact with him. However, I often look at these older adults and feel that people do not know how to interact with them as well. Communication becomes difficult for some people. However, I love these times and have learned so much! Great post! -Sarah Holtz
