Exploring Roles in the ECE Community: Local and State Levels

Even though I want to one day move out of the city and state I live in currently, I decided to research organizations with in my state and city. I decided this because I realized I knew more about other states organizations then I did my own.

These are three organization's that interested me:

Children First Foundation Inc. - (learn more here : http://www.alabamachildrenfirst.com/index.html ) - This organization is set up to advocate for children in the state of Alabama. They also bring awareness of issues that children in my state face.  I chose this organization because I love that they fight for what they feel is best for children and that they make sure the community is aware what is going on as well.

Child Protect- (lean more here : http://www.childprotect.org/donations ) - This organization serves to help children who have been abused by giving them a safe environment to receive help them deal with the trauma they have undergone. They also serve to make sure justice is brought in the cases by providing strong evidence. I choose this organization because they do very important work, they not only help serve justice but they make sure that the child is okay as well.

The Center for Child and Adolescent Development- (learn more here: http://www.ccadmontgomery.org) - This organization is for providing services for children who have developmental  delays. Their mission is to ensure every child develops to his or her fullest.  I really like this organization because they provide resources for both parents and children.  They basically help in every way possible to helps children with developmental delays.

I would love to work for any of these organizations.  One job I would love to do would be to work for Child Protect to as a interviewer/ therapist. Obviously to do this I would need to get a psychology degree as well. But after I achieved that,  I believe my life experiences mixed with this degree course we are all currently working on, would make me a great fit. Maybe one day!

  1. Wonderful post, Hailey. I enjoy reading about organizations that help children with developmental delay. I am a strong believer in early intervention and have seen the benefits firsthand in my son. I think that it is also important for families to advocate for their child early and learn to understand their needs. All children learn differently, it is our job as educators to find the best approach to helping them achieve their goals. Best wishes in your pursuit of your dream career. Great post.
